Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM! I understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be caused by an obstructive sleep apnea. It is a sleep disorder during which the respiration stops and than restarts.
It may be caused by oro-pharingeal anatomical problems, which cause obstruction of the airways during sleep, or by a central nervous system disorder.

I would recommend you to consult with a neurologist and have a polysomnography to be tested for this disorder.

The best treatment for this disorder is positive airway pressure with a CPAP device. CPAP is the standard treatment option for this disorder and generally can reverse this condition quickly with the appropriate use of device.
I would recommend you to treat it as soon as possible because it is a risk factor for coronary artery disease and stroke in the future.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings ! Dr. Aida
