Suggest Treatment For Neck Stiffness, Vomiting And Low Fever
My mom is very very ill she went down to Little Rock Arkansas two and a half weeks ago after being there for a week she started with flu like symptoms hot cold very weak body aches stiff neck headaches pain behind the eyes stiff neck swollen lymph glands on right side of neck nausea vomiting low grade fever lethargic and when she was down there she also had quite a few mosquito bites so I m wondering about West Nile virus she won t let me take her to the hospital she has a doctors appointment tomorrow I m worried that that won t be soon enough please help me thank you

Understanding your concern. As per your query your mother have neck stiffness, vomiting and low fever . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like acute sinusitis , aseptic meningitis , sunburn or viral infection . I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor will take history and order blood test along with chest x-ray . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drug like acyclovir for at least 5 days along with anti inflamatory and anti pyretic . Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon if the problem will e related to muscles and bones like cervical spondolysis . For now do proper rest because rest is important in case of viral infection and apply warm compresses on neck .
