Suggest Treatment For Muscle Spasms And Pain In The Arms

Hi I had a blood test a month ago. Nurse took it from vein closest to outer elbow. Bruising appeared a few days later and lasted 2 weeks, it also swole up pretty bad. Brusing has now gone but I m getting muscle spasms & shooting pains in my arm. Could the blood test site place caused injury?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, drawing of blood from vein can damage surrounding nerves, muscles and tendons if technique is not good.
You might have damaged nerves and muscles because you had pain and swelling after test.
So apply ice packs to test site.
Avoid movements of that elbow which cause pain.
Take simple painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs like ibuprofen and thiocolchicoside.
You will mostly improve with all these in 7 days.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
