Suggest Treatment For Moderate Chest Discomfort

Ive been having moderate chest discomfort and my Dr will be testing for Nutcracker. I had an endoscopy for reflux and 40 mg Nexium didn't seem to get on top of the problem. The pain isn't that bad, nor do I have any other symptoms. Is it likely to be nutcracker osephageal spasm? thanks

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, chest discomfort can be due to nutcracker esophagus.
Only nexium (pantoprazole) is not sufficient for 100% recovery.
You need to follow these lifestyle modifications also.
1. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food.
2. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
3. Avoid smoking and alcohol if you have these habits.
4. Go for walking after meals. Loose weight if you are obese.
5. Keep 2-3 pillows under head in bed.
6. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
