Hi, I am a 50 year old Asian female having trouble with melasma like pigmentation. The left side of my forehead, upper cheeks and upper lip are badly discoloured. It is begining to appear on the right side. I am not taking any contraceptives or hormonal therapy. It began 5 years ago and gradually worsened.
You said that you suffer from melasma, I would like to give you few suggestions to get relief from it.
- avoid sun exposure - apply sun screen gel on face during day time - cleanse the face with kojic acid and glycolic acid containg facewash - apply kojic acid,vitamin C and arbutin contaning gel at night daily - take tranexamic acid tablet twice a day - take glutathion,vitamin C and nicotinic acid - iron,zinc and calcium tablets may be taken if needed - take nutritious food - take good sleep - avoid stress and tension
After few months of treatment you might get relief.
