Suggest Treatment For Macular Degeneration

I had catarac surgery a few months ago and since then, in one eye, I have light streamers across my vision and I see like squiggly water effect in the corner of both eyes. My right eye also aches more every day. Did the surgery cause this and what can be done about it. seeing the streamers really bothers me. also, one doctor said I have macular degeneration and need to take vitamins or I will go blind in 5 years. Another doctor said I have very minor macular degeneration and shouldn't worry about it.

Hi..
Welcome to HCM..
Thanks for the query..
That could be an age related macular degeneration which might have diagnosed after cataract surgery..
Cataract surgery will not cause that problem..
It is a progressive condition and needs to be monitored regularly..
You won't go blind but if neglected it causes profound loss of vision..
Keep consulting the doctor regularly.. Use the medicines which ahve been prescribed..
Hope this information is helpful to you..
Take care.
Will be available for further queries..
Regards..
