Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Since your father had tuberculosis in past and presented again with infective etiology, possibility of multi drug resistant (MDR) TB is high.
MDR TB is common in relapse patients.
And its treatment is totally different from routine tuberculosis. So I advice you to consult pulmonologist and discuss about possibility of MDR tb in his case.
For this you need to get done Sputum culture for AFB and sensitivity.
If sputum production is not there then bronchoscopy and BAL ( Bronchoalveolar lavage ) culture for AFB should be done.
So consult pulmonologist, discuss all these witj him and start appropriate treatment.
