Suggest Treatment For Lower Back Pain

Hi, I am a 28 yr old female, and have had several injuries to my back over the years. I have fractured my sacral/coccyx area several times through slips and hard falls during runway modeling when I was a teen, and the only tx I received was a crappy doughnut pillow and nothing regarding follow ups. Now that I am older and married, my husband commented on a hard 3-4 inch hard lump in my L5 S1 area. I have known of it for years, and always disregarded my severe back pain. It looks as though my bone has grown back weird. Having a frank breech baby via C section 3 years ago didn t help me, my OB GYN stated that my baby was making my tailbone injury worse as she got bigger in the womb. Also, I recently strained my lower back above the L5 area, and just came back from the hospital after receiving injections and prescriptions with an order for a follow up with my PCP in 3 days. I will definitely be going. Besides the new injury, which I will continue treating, I was curious about this large, hard lump in my sacral area. What could it be? I have always hurt in that area, and am constantly stretching it and attempting to pop my back in the morning after I wake up. Should I make sure that I get more than just a simple X ray? I work in healthcare, and am well aware that X rays only show so much of an injury. Thanks, Hurting Mommy

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello
I have studied your case.
due to repeated injury there can be fibrosis and hematoma.
I will advise you MRI and ultrasound to confirm diagnosis along with x ray.
Till time you can take enzymes like trypsin so that you can see eeathrr it reduces in size.
If required blood investigation like CBC, ESR, CRP. TEST may help.
Pet scan will rule out any malignancies.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.
