Had an MRI - disc L4and L5 with painful Facet joints. Pain in Lower back ... lots of tingling and numbness in my feet. Trying to find other option then Medial Branch Block. I have trouble with anesthesia and steroids messing up my depression meds.. any suggestions. What is causing all the pain and numbness in my feet. Especially on my right foot, 3 Toes are completely numb and tingling.

Hi Dear XXX! I have gone through your questions and I understand your concern.

According to what you describe the symptoms may be caused by lumbar facet syndrom. The joint that are between the vertebre L4-L5 compress your nerves that goes through tham and cause you numbness ,pain and tingling. Is especially in your right feet cause the right joint is more damaged.

I would say that the Medial branch block is a good treatment while you are experiencing nerve damage , its local anesthesia so the chance to affect your all body and to interact with your depression medicine is very low .
I would suggest to follow these advice :
-Try to have a good posture of the body , exp.: stay straight when you sit in the chair , avoid any extension or oblique extension of your body or any position that worsen the pain or symptoms .
Use superficial heaat
Take ibuprofen or topical antiimflamator .

Wish these help .
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask me .
I find this answer helpful
