Suggest Treatment For Lower Back And Left-side Abdominal Pain

I have had lower back pain for over a week and now it seems to be a stitch like feeling in the left side of my stomach. I have been to the doctors but they told me to take pain killers and go back in 3 weeks if it is still there. The pain goes from mild to really strong stabbing feeling. Any ideas what this could be .?

The back pain switching to left side of stomach is pointing towards possibility of stone so I will advice to go for ultrasound of abdomen to isolate the cause. For pain continue pain killers as suggested by the doctor. Drink plenty of oral fluids or water as it is very helpful in case of renal stone.
