I am a 60 yr old female. I have felt unwell for a long time. After having general labs test done, I have low thyroid. Presently taking 50mg synthroid. I still feel unwell and continue to have multiple and varied symptoms. I have been to my Dr. numerous times with no progress.

Thank you for posting your query. I can understand your concern.

It is a bit difficult to tell about the treatment without knowing the exact levels of TSH , fT4 and fT3.

I can understand that you are gaining weight , feeling lethargic .

These levothyroxine medications like synthyroid , they are given according to the TSH levels. Their doses are titrated up and down according to the TSH levels.

I would suggest you to get a serum TSH , fT4 ,fT3 levels and get back to us with both the new and old reports. We will be happy to help.

Have a nice day.
