Suggest Treatment For Low Grade Fever , Nausea , Ear Pain And Sore Throat

My daughter and I have been very unwell for nearly a week now, low grade fever, headache, nausea, pain in the ears and sore throat. Not a sore throat in the usual sense, it hurts to swallow but its almost as if the area in the front of the throat around the adams apple area hurts. We also are fatigued with aches and pains...my best friends daughter who was in the house about three to four weeks ago has just been diagnosed with mumps even though she was vaccinated. my query is would it be possible that we have a milder form even though we were vaccinated. All three females in our house have had vaccinations that are up to date but I worry for my husband as he was never vaccinated...what would the risk be to him if it might be mumps I would appreciate any advice you could give me on this, thank you. regards, T. Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood your concerns about your daughter and husband.
Since your husband us an adult his contracting mumps at this age is almost negligible hence you may please stop worrying about him and the daughter of your best friend with mumps has visited your home 3-4 weeks ago, there is no chance that anyone in your house can get infected after such a long time.

About your daughter getting pain near the Adam's apple and other symptoms are due to flu. This can cause the hyoid and thyroid cartilages getting inflamed due to viruses and need a good anti-inflammatory medicine.
With proper medicines symptomatically treated will take care of the low grade fever, nausea, ear pain and the sore throat.
Keep her well hydrated.
She will be fine soon.
Consultation of a Pediatrician surely helps in clinical evaluation and treatment.
