Suggest Treatment For Low Ejection Fraction

My husband just found out by an echo that his ejection fraction is .35. He s never had heart trouble before & is only 58. He had a cath in 2006 & was perfectly clear. As a matter of fact, Dr Mike McDonald said he d die from cancer from smoking before his heart gave out. He did have 3 brain surgeries last year for Chiari Malformation. The 3rd surgery last July was because it got a staph infection that had had to be cleaned out & on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks. He has been very fatigued, just tired all the time, some s.o.b., & generally hasn t felt good in a long time. Now....what are our options. The Dr did put him on cardilol? a month ago & tried him on a fluid pill but he had an allergic reaction so stopped that. We re looking for a good cardiologist in Nashville to go see, but I d like your opinion. Thank you for this service, Jeri Benjamin YYYY@YYYY 901-485-9812

Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

The ejection fraction – by itself – needs not or cannot be corrected.
If the cause is treated, it will improve automatically.
He seems to be having heart failure…
The treating doctor alone can suggest further based on his assessment of the situation.

Take care
God bless
