Suggest Treatment For Loose Stools, Headache And Nausea

I have had watery stools for the past 8 days, and at least 5 times a day. Just recently I had 6 within an hour. I have a headache and nausea sometimes but not constant. No fever. But iI have been smelling a foul smell through my nose for ar least a month now. Not a sinus infection, as I took Amoxicillin for one about 6 weeks ago.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Based on the symptoms mentioned, it is likely that you have enteritis which is inflammation/infection of the gastrointestinal tract causing diarrhea.

It is is due to viral or bacterial infection usually, viral is more common than bacterial.

You would need to hold off solid food till there is a 4 hour window with no symptoms. When you restart small amounts of dry foods should be used.

In addition, you need to use oral rehydration fluids or dilute gatorade to help replace the fluid and electrolytes that have been lost.

Probiotics would also help to speed up recovery.

In terms of the odor, it may be due to rhinits, the use of a topical nasal steroid spray may help.
If there is no change then a repeat course of antibiotics, after the diarrhea resolves, may be needed.

I hope this helps
