Suggest Treatment For Loose Motions In A Child

Hi
My daughter has turned 4 months old on 27th december'14 and she is completely on breast feed. We got her quadravac vaccine on 25th dec'14 and right from 26th she started passing loose motion. She has passed it 8 times in a day. The stools are yellowish, slightly sticky and curdy. It is not smelly, the baby is active and no fever. Mother also has no health problems.
What could be the reason? What action should we take now?
Regards
Suhas

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. You should get a stool routine test and culture to rule out infection. In case of infection antibiotic therapy and probiotics will help. If there is no infection then it is most likely lactose intolerance. In such case you can stop breast feeding for some days and start giving soy based milk formula. This will help to loose motions in some days if it is lactose intolerance.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
