Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I experience extreme leg pain after playing racquetball - tendons, nerves and muscles. I am otherwise in good health and have been playing competitively since a child. Sometimes I feel like throwing up afterwards and have trouble sleeping. I recently have been losing most of the hair on my thighs and have extremely cold feet. I am 59. Are these symptoms of PAD? The pain subsides when I stop, but would like to continue playing if possible. Tom
There are different causes of leg pain: -varicosis -thrombophlebitis -PAD -lack of Calcium -sprain If you the "crampy" pain (called "intermittent claudication"), when you walk, then stop, because of pain,if you are smoking and leg pain that does not go away when you stop exercising then it can be PAD. I suggest- 1. Massage with Diclofenac gel 2 times for 5 days. 2.Tight bandaging 3.Consult surgeon, do ultrasound of veins or might be angyography. Take care Dr.Sagar Gaurav Shrivastva
