Suggest Treatment For Laryngitis

I am a singer and have a virus which has led to laryngitis. I took a Medrol Dospak when this happened a year and a half ago which helped. Is it ok to take it again? Any negative long lasting side effects if it s something i need to take every 18 months or so when I get a virus?

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . There can be many factor that can cause laryngitis like infection of upper respiratory track ,acid reflux ,sore throat or overuse of larynx. Medrol dospak in an anti inflammatory drug .There is no harm in taking it again and there are very few chances of any side effect if you are taking it once in 18 month .

But it is extremely important to find the underlying cause and get it treated other it will occur again and again and effectiveness of drug decrease along with other complication .

I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist(ear,nose,throat)for proper examination and proper treatment .
