Suggest Treatment For Large Bumps On The Back Of The Tongue

I was just eating Indian food at a restaurant that I often frequent. Near the beginning of my meal it felt as if I had a popcorn kernel stuck on the back of my tongue. I spent the rest of the meal trying to dislodge it with my food and drink. Nothing seemed to help. When I got home and looked in my throat with a flashlight, I noticed a bunch of large bumps on the back of my tongue. Only one of them seems to feel irritated like a scratchy popcorn kernel. It is driving me mad. What should I do?

Hello! Read your query.

These large bumps are circumvallate papilla. This is normal anatomy and there is nothing to worry.

You can use a interdental brush to remove the popcorn.Use a soft tooth brush on your teeth.Food lodgement is common when there are poor contacts.

I suggest you to regularly use a floss for a better gum health.
Regards.
