ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
WELCOME TO HCM,
Yes the sinus infection can definitely interfere with smell since the odors will reach your top of your inside nose may be because of thick nasal secretions , where the olfactory epithelium(the nerve cable which carries your smell sense to brain)...the post nasal drip also affects the taste sensations...take oxymetazoline nasal drops 3 drops in each nostril three times daily, and also take steam inhalation to ventilate your sinuses and clear the mucus...take tablet Levocetirizine 2.5 mg with Phenylephrine 10 mg one tab at night for 14days after food..symptoms might improve..
I find this answer helpful
