My husband is 62, 189pds, 5' 11". My husband had a lipotripsy last Tuesday. That evening he could NOT urinate much. Doctor first thought stone was 8mm turned out to be MUCH larger he said. Said only 75% came out, rest went into kidney. Went back to office next day and they had to put in a catheter. Why does he need this and will he need this the rest of his life? He will have x-ray on 6/13/11 and then see urologist again.
No the catheter is only for time being . But the part of stone that went into the kidney needs to be evaluated in size and location and if found big he might need PCNL for that.
