Hello Doctor,I ahve been consuming alchohol for over 20 years and am 44 now. Lately for 4 years it has gone up to 500 ml average per day. I have jaundice and when tested my Billirubin lvel is at 15 and Gama GT at 1000. I have been asked to give up alchohol which I have done and its been 15 days since. The colour of my eyes and body is getting better and with a good diet, I feel very good and hope to have my results better in the next test which is been advised after another 15 days. Please advise if you feel that it would bring the counts down. I had also done an ultra sound and found my organs to be OK with a slightly moderate fatty lever. Any other diet you would suggest. Rgds R
I would like to suggest once again that say no to alchol for probably lifetime. As you have already damaged your liver a lot, small dose of alchol can be dangerous. It's good that there is only fatty liver, but your bilirubin level is high suggestive of moderate liver dysfunction. Just wait for few weeks , it will go down.Another thing no fatty diet for few weeks until bilirubin comes normal.More carbohydrate needed. Also no fast food or outside food.
