Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes On Shoulder And Back

Hello, I have been trying to figure out an odd skin rash or similar that I ve been dealing with for about 9-12 months. Every few weeks, but not seemingly connected to any understandable cycle or trigger, I have a really intense itchy, stingy feeling most often on my shoulder blades or back. Then within a day, I have about an inch or so long linear scab and then just a pinpoint past one end, there will be a red dot/scab. The site is very itchy for a couple of days. When the scab comes off, there s no line, but usually three or four pinpoint dots, similar to the first one. One of the dots usually persists for a couple more days. Then it goes away and everything heals for a week or two. Sometimes I have two or three lines at the same time in a small grouping. I ve had them on my shoulder, upper arm, my knee, the base of a finger, and one on my wrists, but almost all are on my back and shoulder blades, where the seem to only move over a couple of inches from the previous site and have been moving across my back form right to left. It doesn t look like any pictures of scabies i can find, and the doctor I have seen says I must be scratching in my sleep - but I can t always reach the center of my back even when I am awake and it is always a dot-dash or line pattern.

Dermatologist 's  Response
hello, i can understand your concern.
these itchy lesions may be urticaria, and not scabies.
urticaria is just like any other allergic disease with a triggoring factor which may be something which you eat, sweat, heat, cold, water , dust, hair colour , or anything surrounding you.
the permanent treatment is to avoid allergens. you can go for allergen patch test to know the allergens, or if not you can take antihistaminics like levocitrizine for long time and taper it, it would help you.
hope it would help.
thank you
