Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes In The Groin Area
My son is 21 years old. He has had an extremely itchy rash. He has been to 2 different doctors. They aren t sure what is the cause. The third doctor thinks it is scabies however, he has no links or scabs. It is all over different areas but it itches most on his arms and his buttocks. He also noticed his lymph nodes are swollen above his groin. It has been 21!2 months now. Everyone else in the house have been fine. What lose could this be.
A treatment trial may be beneficial. If one of your doctors thinks it is scabies, it might be appropriate to give it a short treatment trial and see where it leads. There are confirmatory tests for scabies where they take a small piece of skin and put it under the microscope. If it is scabies or ringworm, it will very likely improve with these short treatment courses. If they don't take care of it, you may be left with a possibility that this is a chronic itchy skin condition. Bottom line, seek a dermatologist and see what they have to offer. They may not have a concrete answer but they may do tests to confirm and even offer a short trial of treatment that will cure it.
