General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The itching may have been initially due to an allergic reaction or contact irritation of the skin but with the history of an odor and discharge, there is likely a secondary infection present

This infection may be bacterial, fungal or both.

It would be best to see your doctor for assessment and treatment which may include using topical steroid cream along with topical antibiotic or antifungal cream.

You may also need to use a barrier cream to prevent contact of the area with moisture.

Oral treatment may or may not be needed depending on the extent of the infection.

I hope this helps
