General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
Irregular period in the PCOS mainly due to hormonal imbalance and absence of ovulation.
For irregular period generally ORAL CONTRACPETIVE PILL AND progesterone pill in second half of pregnancy should be given.

First I advice you to consult the gynaecologist and go for following investigation that help in management of case:
Reproductive hormone analysis: LH, FSH, prolactin, E2, progestreone, testosterone and DHEAS, USG scan, ovarian follicle study, blood glucose, insulin and lipid profile
Doctor may give following advice to cure the PCOS:

Main aim of treatment in your case is decrease weight that increase insulin sensitivity. and regularise the period.

Oral contraceptive pill (Femilon) or progesterone pill (Primolut N): to regularise the period.

Tablet metformin: To maintain glucose homoeostasis, increase insulin sensitivity and induce ovulation

Flutamide and spironolactone: diuretic action and also induce ovulation.
Clomiphen citrate can be given to induce ovulation also maintain fertility.

If medical treatment will fail then surgical process like ovarian dreeling can be done.

Diet and exercise therapy may important role in your case:
avoid excessive sweets and yogurts,
avoid spicy and oily food,
take small frequent meal rather than large meal,
take green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits.

Reduce weight by exercise like walking, cycling, running and also do yoga daily in the morning for 45-60 minutes. Reduction in weight by 10 percent cause more induction in ovulation and regularize the period
Hope this may help you
