Suggest Treatment For Irregular Menstruation And Headache

Hi, For past 1 year i have issues of irregular periods. I missed periods for 68 days and doctor gave me premulote N for 10 days. My periods started after taking medication but with severe pain and headaches. I got tests for Hormonal Imbalance and i had the issue with my hormones. A new doctor suggested me to take dopergin for 1 month, half tablet. My periods regulated for some time but blood flow was very light and lasted for 3 days to 5 at maximum. I had to Qatar for some official trip, after coming back i again missed my periods for around 2.5 months. The doctor gave me dopergin for 2 months and asked to take diane 35 when my periods start. my periods started 2.5 months late and i took diane 35 during my periods. my periods started after 2.5 months (23 Feb and then 28th May) and i started taking diane 35 as advised but my periods are not normal. There is just slight blood spots and since i started taking i am still having same blood spots everyday since past 22 days. pink or light red blood spots! Kindly recommend something and tell me what is wrong with me! aina

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You need to get evaluated for PCOD through a hormonal profile and an ultrasound pelvis to check for polycystic ovaries. The hormonal profile includes fsh, lh, amh, serum testosterone, dheas, 17 ohp and thyroid profile + serum prolactin levels.

Once diagnosed then PCOD can be treated with oc pills, insulin sensitisers, diet, exercise and myoinositol supplementation for 3 to 6 months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sameer Kumar
