Suggest Treatment For Irregular Heart Rate

Hi, it seems to me that my heart beat has become very irregular and will beat very hard and fast after simple things. I am not in the best shape but I do still work out, and run etc. I don t know if it just means I need to exercise more or what, but it s a bit scary that just after getting up and moving around a bit my heart is beating out of my chest!

Hi There

After reading the details provided by you i want to suggest you that if you feel that your heart is beating with irregularity then you better get an ECG done for yourself as irregular rhythm is an abnormality and we need to make sure what type of irregular rhythm it is. If your ECG comes out to be normal which some times happens due to transient rhythm abnormality going on which was not there when you went for your ECG then i would like to advise a HOLTER Monitoring for you which is a 24 hr ECG recording while you do your daily activities. If that also comes normal then i want to suggest you to start daily morning walk 45 mins a day for 5 days a week, low salt diet, avoid food containing saturated fats, include more vegetables and fruits in your meals and DO NOT SMOKE (if you do). Follow this routine for 3 months strictly and then continue, you will be relieved.

And finally even after all these changes the problem persists then we need to start you on some low dose BETA BLOCKERS if your palpitations are troublesome.

Good Luck
