Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Ectopic Beats

5 weeks ago I was prescribed amlodopine 5mg to take along with my regular medication of ramipril 10mg and indapemede 2.5mg. I have suffered intermittent ectopic beats for some years but over the last couple of weeks these have increased to being aware of them all day every couple of minutes. Could the amlodopine be the cause?

Hello welcome to HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.

No, amlodipine can not produce intermittent missed beats.

You should go for proper evaluation of the intermittent beats.
My advice to you is -

1. Ask your doctor about holter monitoring which is a 24 hrs ecg monitoring. It will give you confirmatory idea whether the abnormal rhythm is dangerous or not.

2.There are medicines available for missed beats e.g beta blockers which can effectively treat missed beats. Your doctor will prescribe it after holter monitoring if necessary. Untill then continue same medicines.

Thank you.
Have a nice day.
