Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Coughing?

Hello there. For about 3 weeks now I have been coughing on an off during the day but this cough does not seem to want to go away although it is in the mid to upper 90's everyday. I have also a bit of congestion with it but no fever. What is your opinion please?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for contacting health care magic...

This congestive symptom can be from viral infection of upper respiratory tract ...
Any cough more than 3 week should be evaluated through chest x ray.
So investigate with ..
1.Chest x ray
2.CBC

If CBC shows neutrophilia than antibiotic has to be started ...

For congesion relief take benadryl like antihistaminic drug...

Do salt water gargles...

Avoid smoking exposure ..

Take more water and daily drink turmeric powder in milk (if you are taking milk daily as sometime in old age milk cant digested)

If antibiotic needed than take levofloxacin for 5 days ...

If still no improvement consult pulmonologist for auscultation and further examination..

Hope your concern solved
