I am suffering from insomnia since march this year. Neurologist, after having ct and eeg, both normal prescribed mirnite meltab15 once at night and lonazep .5 half two times. but still i am not having a sound sleep. In day times even after sever drowsiness i cant sleep only feel like intoxicated.

1st thing is require is to maintain sleep hygiene that includes


Certain routines and lifestyle modification will help you like

Fix sleep schedule and stick on it/no day time sleep

Exercise that makes you fatigue

Stress free activities and meditations
Avoid alcohol and smoking/avoid heavy meal in dinner/avoid tea cofffee soft drink at night

Use bed when you feel sleepy/read up to when you will sleepy



No talking or use mobile in bed
Calm and cool bed room

all of this will help you to restore good sleep

besides this there are some medicines like benzodiazapine and zolpidame which are useful in treat sleep problems. you need to consult psychiatrist before taking it.

Insomnia is due to Psychological stress or illness may require treatment of underlying root illness.


So consult and get well soon
