I have what I thought was an ingrown hair on my inner thigh after a couple days turned black/dark purple and hard under the surface. When I tried popping it, the hardened and sore area became almost the size of a half dollar. It s gone done in size and pain, but it s still oozing puss and blood, is this a boil or should I go to patient first?
I have gone through your complete query and after analyzing it I can make out that your ingrown hair have become infected.
You require an antibiotic therapy to treat the present condition. In your kind of ingrown hair I generally prefer to do Laser hair reduction of the area.
It is one of the best method to treat the ingrown hair permanently. If it is used properly it reduces the chances of recurrence of the ingrown hair by making these fine from coarse status.
I suggest you to meet a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon to take guidance for the laser hair reduction and to prevent further recurrence of ingrown hair.
All the best.
