I have been diagnosed with Indolent Lymphoma through a lung biopsy and will have a pet scan tomorrow. I am 68 years and very healthy taking no meds except an anti-anxiety med for sleeping and vitamins. Originally I was told it is a fist sized tumor in my left upper lobe of lung and went into surgery (June 15) to have the lobe removed and not to have another biopsy. A biopsy eight weeks ago came back benign but an infection has not been cultured as of last Thursday on either surgery. Lymph cells were present in the second surgery. What can I expect now if the surgeon told me he still does not believe it is cancer but infection. He has stated there will be no more lung surgery. I will see the oncologist on July 10. This was found as a result of my fracturing my left arm. Doctors cannot believe I have had no symptoms from this and we do not know when this started. I now have my neck itching me you do not see a redness or a rash. My only mucous came from the treatments and went away within a week of treatments.
