Suggest Treatment For Index Finger And Knuckle Pain After Injury

I woke up after a night out drinking to find I could not bend my left index finger and hand pain around the knuckle area. 4 days on and I am still in pain and now have a bruise between my thumb and index finger. A and e said that my X-Ray showed no obvious sign of fracture. What could be still causing pain on movement?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I have studied your case and I think that you might be having teno synovitis of the tendon. In this disease there is constriction of the tendon sheath and that causes restriction of movements. This is called trigger finger. I would suggest you to show it to hand surgeon and get it confirmed.
Fotr treatment I would recommend you to try following.
1.Physiotherapy and hot water fomentation
2. Streoid injection on tendon sheath
3. Tablet Brufen for pain relief.
4. Some time release of tendon sheath is required.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other follow up question .
thanks
