Suggest Treatment For Improper Bone Development In Children

Hi. My son is 12 years old with an Xray Bone age of 9. He is 90% in height but very behind in puberty development. Our pediatrician sent us for the bone age test after his physical showed a rather small penis. He is not even close to puberty and just turned 12 years old. His dad was a late developer and is now 6 6 tall. Do we need to take him to an Endocronologist? Or will he just eventually hit puberty? Thank you
