Suggest Treatment For Hysteria And Disorientation

My mother was sent to Senior Haven, a psychiatric facility, by her nursing home. The 6 day stay with people screaming and hollering scared her to death and traumatized her. We had her returned to the nursing home, but now she either sleeps all the time or wakes up and is hysterical and screams and hollers and is totally out of touch with reality. The only new medicine they added was Lamical (Lamoprigine) 25 mg 3 times a day. She also has started taking Adavan .05 morning and night to calm her down. She is totally drugged. She doesn t eat or open her eyes or wake up. Do you have any suggestions to get her back to normal?

Hello.
Welcome to HCM
Your mothers symptoms are not probably of hysteria this is schizophrenia.
She needs drug treatment now.
Takes some time to normalize.
ECT is a good treatment modality but it has its own indication..
Give her a proper family support psycologically.
Review regularly to your psychiatrist..
Hope this is helpful.regards.
