Suggest Treatment For Hypoglycemia
young male with anklyosing spondylitis and daily episodes of hypoglycemia. Not diabetic, but family history. Eating carbs (healthy ones) doesn t help. Blood work shows low potassium and non fasting glucose of 67. Hypoglycemia started after being put on Celebrex.

Celebrex contains celecoxib which can cause hypoglycemia. In a large trial conducted by eHealthMe approximately 0.2% of the users had hypoglycemia and all of them had this problem in their first month. It may also cause hypokalemia. However, hypoglycemia and hypokalemia per se need immediate evaluation and management. All the differential diagnoses should also be ruled out. So, my recommendation is to visit your local doctor and get further evaluation and treatment.
