Suggest Treatment For Hypertension In An Asthematic

what is the best choice of blood pressure medication for an asthmatic? I take advair daily, and sertraline 50 mg and trazadone 150 mg. I had a concussion in August and was put on clonazepam to help with my anxiety, but it took me 6 weeks to wean off after having been on it for 4 weeks on a low dose. I have been off over a month and my blood pressures have been high 140-150/80-90. My MD wants to now start me on a BP med. I am very sensitive to meds and really don t want another one, but I also am concerned about these higher BPs.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
I can understand your concern.
If I was your treating doctor, I would have advised you to start yoga , breathing exercise, physical exercise to your capacity and low salt diet to begin with.
In my opinion 140 to 150-90 can be managed by life style modification specially if he is asthmatic.
Hope , this suggestion will help you.
Good luck.
