Suggest Treatment For Hot Flushes And Mood Swings, With History Of PCOS
Hi, I am a 32 year old female and was diagnosed with pcos 7 years ago after struggling to conceive. I have since had 2 children following treatment x however i have also had ongoing symptoms of fatigue, hot flushes, feeling cold, low in mood with altered mood swings and loss of libido for some years now....ive tried all different contraceptives and councilling with little success............when i was 10 i had a head injury which i never had checked out but have always had a mis-shaped lump on my forehead - im beginning to wander if this could have caused any problems with hypopituitarism?? My gp previously keeps telling me its all probably viral and the worst part of pcos is falling pregnant - but i beg to differ - should i be asking for further testing??Many thanks
It is quite common with PCOS and is due to hormonal imbalances. Hormonal pills may be required to revert the endocrine balance. You have to do a thyroid function test (TFT) to rule out hypothyroidism as hypothyroidism will present with similar symptoms.
