Suggest Treatment For Hives

I woke up with hives all over my face and neck yesterday. It seemed worse today. I can't think of anything new or different in my diet or environment except that I polished my nails. I removed the polish. If the hives are related to an allergic reaction, how long should it take for them to go away once the allergen is removed?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Hives on face and neck are indicating towards allergic reaction, however removing nail polish does not seems to be causing such a severe reaction, so exact cause should be ruled out..

You might have bitten by any bug or exposed to any toxic plant or food that could cause such hives..

Consult an Emergency room and get evaluated so that they can advise anti allergic medication like Benadryl along with a steroid shot to relieve the symptoms..

But in case if the symptoms recur then an Allergic test should be done to rule out the allergen..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
