Suggest Treatment For High Uric Acid

I am a 40 year old male who suffers high uric acid but I don not have Ghout according to my family doctor. I have arthritis and my joint pain can get real bad when I work out or do manual labor. I seen a Rheumatologist about 3 years ago for a serious "flair up" I was hospitalized for 3 days and off work for a month. What can I do to lower the uric acid and is there medication for high uric acid, not for Ghout?

Uric acid is formed due to protein metabolism. So first thing you should do is to avoid eating red meat, vegetables and fruit full of seeds like tomato, lady finger , guavava. Avoid drinking very large volumeof alccohol all of a sudden.
As far as drug are concerned there are two type of drugs.
1. Drugs which causes decrease in uric acid production like xyloric, fabuxostat
2. Drugs which causes increase excretion of uric acid like Probencid
So you can discuss with your physician and then choose drugs which are suitable for you.
