Suggest Treatment For High Fever In A Child
My baby is 11 months OLs and has been suffering from high fever since Monday with no other symptoms. His fever has gone as high as 103.7. After alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen his temp gets as low a 96°F, he is sleeping a lot and sweating. What should I do?

i can understand your concern.
does your child have any other symptom like cough or presence of wheeze or any change in urine or loose stools or does he cries a lot???
fever in children of this age group is quite frequently seen.
the two most important things which should be followed by the parents are
1. cold sponging as frequent as possible to reduce the temperature
2. paracetamol syrup. which you have been giving.
fever usually subsides with these measures.
do not stop feeding the child, the child should be adequately hydrated also.
in majority of the cases the fever subsides with these.
if any of the symptoms mentioned are present it gives a direction of some infection present for which an antibiotic is required .
a complete blood picture is also advised so that the cell counts can be known which would also aid in the treatment.
donot worry follow these instructions, you child would recover soon.
