General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
- It can be because of lactose intolerance or bacterial infection / both the factors together.
- Looking at the symptoms- first thing to be alert about is to avoid dehydration. Breast milk ( specially during early flow- fore milk) has sufficient water to keep baby hydrated. If you are giving her additional water- please use boiled water.
Still if you find signs of dehydration-( dry mouth, thirst, less elasticity in skin, sunken frontanel & eyes )- you should take her to ER for IV transfusion.
- The baby needs investigations to detect food allergy & culture * sensitivity test of stools - in order to know exact cause & offer specific treatment & antibiotic.
Please consult a pediatrician.
Thanks
