I found out my blood sugar was over 650 and have have been given injections of long-term and fast-acting insulin to get my sugar levels down. I have never been diagnosed as a diabetic until now. Even with the injections over the last two days, my blood sugar level is staying just under 300. Should I go to the hospital or wait to see an endocronologist after the weekend? I have been going to a doc in the box twice a day for insulin shots and blood monitoring. My sugar at night goes to 360 and came in at 250 this morning.
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
Sir, as the diabetes is diagnosed just now and your sugar levels are showing clear response to the insulin. Usually, Such high levels need hospitalization. But as you sugar levels are already in a direction of control, you can wait and meet an endocrinologist with all the sugar reports and medications you are with. Then get the proper dosage which could be continued there after. Mean while Low carbohydrate diet and exercise like walking is necessary.
Hope this guides you. Wishing you good health. Dr Phanindra Dulipala Diabetologist.
