Suggest Treatment For High BP Along With Swollen Feet And Ankles
My feet and legs are swelling up just out of the blue, it s done this once before. Today I was just sitting on the couch and took my socks off and my feet into my ankle are really swollen. The first time it did it was about 2 weeks ago. I woke up and they were all the way swollen to my calves . my blood pressure is been hi 155/103 heart rate 115. I just want to know how often this is going to happen.
You have hypertension that might lead to leg edema. So first try to correct your blood pressure with low sat diet and antihypertensive medication like amlodipine or enalapril.
Second peripheral leg edema might be because of kidney problem or right side heart failure.Do serum urea , creatinine like renal function test and ECG for detecting them. And treated accordingly. If heart failure present treat with diuretic.
This edema might be because of hypoalbuminemua.so estimate your serum protein level for that.
Hypothyroidism also has to be ruled out by thyroid profile.
Mostly with control of hypertension edema will be relieved.
If still cause not clear then consult doctor for further work up according to physical examination and clinical history.
Wish you good health. Dr.parth
