Suggest Treatment For Herpes
I had unprotected sex about 3 weeks ago once. one week later i put nair on my bottom and burned it. it hurt like hell to wipe, thats it. no blisters, scabbing or anything else. i am also on the depo shot and had constant bleeding so i was douching like every three days. fast forward two weeks and i had a tingling sensaton and was diagnosed with a UTI. I went to a minor emergency and they did a culture on me but also stated that i had no blisters or scabs. the results came back and they said i had gential herpes and BV. BUT just 5 weeks ago i tested negative for everything including herpes. my score was 0.90. i havent had sex since i put the nair on me. do you think they misdiagnosed me because of the constant douching and nair burn? i also still have constant bleeding

thank you for query.as you are suggesting that the tests for herpes are negative.i hope it is IGG for herpes is negative and if so you do not have herpes.it may due to irritant contact dermatitis due to douching repeatedly.all you need to do is cleanse the area with a mild cleanser 2 times a day.you can apply topical antibiotic like mupirocin if infected or pus present.the bleeding is due to the depot you have been using .it may take some time to get adjusted.if bleeding is excess or with foul smell discharge then consult OBG specialist for changing the contraceptive.You can get back to me for any clarifications with the photos.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist

Thank you for query.i think the symptoms may be due to irritant contact dermatitis due to repeated douching as the symptoms may not prolong for a long time in herpes as quoted here.with tests being negative herpes is unlikely. clean the area with gentle cleanser twice daily and take antihistamine like cetrizine.Bleeding is due to the depot you are on.Please consult OBG specialist if it persists for long time or becomes excess or foul smelling otherwise minor bleeding is normal.You can get back to me for any clarifications with details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist
