Addiction is a complex mental process. In someone who has been in a long term addiction process, the idea that one can just get a drug and be fixed is more a (wrong) viewpoint connected with the addiction process than an established medical procedure.
Suboxone is a combination of buprenorphine and a blocker of other drugs. It provides a context in which one can safely explore what is keeping someone addicted and work on it.
