Dear- thanks for using our service. I read your question in details and will give you my medical advise. Hiatal hernia is treated most of the time with medication, diet modification and elevation of the head over the trunk while sleeps. It can grow but the treatment still the same, trying to avoid surgery because medical treatment usually controls it. I suggest you to avoid food that can aggravate the reflux as: spicy, coffee, alcohol, fried, chocolate and vegetables that can increase gas production. Eating a healthy diet will make the difference.
I hope that my advise has been helpful
