Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had 2 heart attacks at the beginning of may 2014, lost 45 lbs. and discovered I had a hernia above my belly button. Very large and produces acid and use lots of tums. Because I lost 23% of my heart, I am looking for some kind of stress to use to help.
hello welcome to hcm well sir you have actually developed a condition which is called as UMBLICAL HERNIA,in this condition few loops of intestine bulges out of the abdominal wall near the naval....your umblical hernia is not related in any ways to the heart attacks you had in the past...if i were your treating doctor , i would have advised you to get URGENT SURGERY and correction of your umblical hernia as soon as possible because if its left alone for long it can have potentially DANGEROUS COMPLICATIONS such as --
(1) INCARCERATION -- it occurs when the protruding part of intestines and abdominal tissues gets trapped and can no longer be pushed back,it cuts off the blood supply of the trapped part of intestine and abdominal tissues
(2) GANGRENE
(3) LIFE THREATNING SEPSIS
so i would again repeat my advice that PLZZ DONT WAIT AND WASTE ANY MORE TIME AND GET THE URGENT SURGICAL REPAIR OF THE HERNIA DONE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
i hope i have cleared your doubts and i hope you find my opinion to be helpful
take care sir and get well soon
