Suggest Treatment For Hereditary Ataxia

Hi- My name is Lynn and I have hereditary ataxia. I am 67 and have seen a slow progression of the disease over the last 5 years. I am the second oldest of 10 kids and I got it from my dad. Most of the older kids show different degrees of symptoms. Balance is the main thing, intermitant cough, sometimes a slurred speech and slight hand co ordination difficulty. I am worried about my future life as my dad died at 84 and couldn't walk and more progression of other symptoms. Who can I see for help and possible treatment. I have seen a neurologist but to no avail--where to turn. I live in Oklahoma city.

HI
Well come to HCM
This is genetic disease and you are 67 years old you have spent pretty long years of life with this condition and looking to this you must have learnt how to live with this condition and there must not be any difficulty now, in my opinion this is nothing to worry, just keep everything as it is because now condition is not going to worse any more, take care.
I find this answer helpful
