Suggest Treatment For Heavy And Painful Menstruation
Hi I am a 26 year old female who has experienced heavy and painful periods for many years. I normally go through a 36 count box of tampons ever month and because I am afraid I will bleed through them I also use pads. My hair started thinning around the age of 15 (2 years after my period started) when I was diagnosed with anemia. I am wondering if there are any options out there to lessen my heavy periods other than birth control? I have always been a little frightened of taking birth control. Thank you! -Kelly
Hi. It seems that you might be having Menorrhegia and Dysmenorrhia. This can be due to some hormonal imbalance. A cyclical course of hormonal medicine for 3-4 cycles will give you relief from both problem of painful period and heavy period. There is no another option for this problem and nothing to worry about this hormonal treatment. Take Iron supplements daily. Ok and take care.
